Job Description

Role Overview: You will be joining the Global Multi-Physics Simulation (GLOMUS) network team as an Experienced Structural R&D Engineer. Your role will involve contributing to innovative development projects in the fields of electrical, structural, acoustic, thermo-mechanic, and fluid-dynamics analyses, simulation, and testing. You will work within a global R&D community to support various engineering offices worldwide in developing new technologies, optimizing existing products, and providing mechanical design and simulation tasks. Key Responsibilities: - Create and enhance analytical tools and finite element methodologies for structural, static, fatigue, and dynamic analysis - Participate in the design process by suggesting new ideas from concept design to production - Support new product development projects focusing on mechanical design and simulation tasks in multi-disciplinary areas such as static, dynamic, thermal, and seismic simulations - Conduct mechanical and seismic feasibility studies, including design calculations and preparation of technical documents - Provide support to transfer technology and knowledge from GLOMUS to other technical centers - Prepare 3D CAD models, drawings, FE-simulation models, test procedures, and documentation - Uphold Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity by taking responsibility for actions and caring for colleagues and the business - Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines Qualification Required: - Masters degree in mechanical, aerospace engineering, or physics with a strong foundation in structural dynamics and vibrations - 3+ years of experience in Mechanical, static, fatigue, dynamic simulations - Deep understanding of mechanical core competences, material selection, and manufacturing methods - Knowledge of high voltage products is a plus - Advanced skills in numerical methods for Mechanical simulations; experience with software suites like ANSYS Workbench or COMSOL preferred - Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB, Mathcad, Python, and Ansys ACT for creating custom simulations and analyzing data - Good proficiency in 3D-CAD modeling; knowledge of cPLM and Windchill desired - Experience with structural testing, fiber optics, and application of different sensors (e.g., strain gauges, load cells, accelerometers) is advantageous - High level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn new technologies and simulation methodologies - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team to deliver high-quality results on time - Willingness to travel and fluency in written and spoken English is required due to being part of a global business,
