Job Title: Senior Statistician

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Statistician to lead the statistical design and analysis functions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in survey methodology, sampling design, and advanced analytics, with a passion for understanding political behaviour and public opinion.

Key Responsibilities: 1. Survey Design & Methodology

• Lead the design of statistically sound sampling frameworks for statewide, district, AC and Booth-level surveys.

• Develop and validate stratified, cluster, and multi-stage sampling models suited to diverse population distributions.

• Define appropriate sample sizes, margins of error, and weighting procedures for each survey round.

• Ensure the survey methodology adheres to scientific standards and aligns with project objectives.

2. Data Integrity & Quality Assurance

• Design and oversee quality control mechanisms for data collection and entry.

• Conduct validation studies and reliability checks to identify sampling or non sampling errors.

• Establish data cleaning, weighting, and adjustment protocols for large-scale field datasets.

3. Advanced Statistical Analysis

• Perform regression modelling, segmentation, and factor analysis to derive deep insights into voter sentiment and behavioural patterns.

• Develop constituency-level projections and predictive models for election and issue-based studies.

• Use statistical software (R, Python, SPSS, or Stata) for advanced inference, weighting, and trend analysis.

• Interpret and communicate results to campaign leadership in simple, actionable terms.

4. Leadership & Collaboration

• Collaborate with field operations, research, and digital teams to align analysis with strategic priorities.

• Present findings to senior political advisors, government communication teams, and campaign leads.

• Contribute to proposal design and methodology notes for new survey projects. Qualifications & Experience Education: Master’s or PhD in Statistics

Experience: • 5–10 years of experience in applied statistics, survey research, or large-scale data analytics.

• Proven experience in leading survey-based projects, preferably in social, political, or market research contexts.

• Hands-on experience with multi-stage sampling and population-level weighting.

Technical Skills: • Proficiency in R, Python, SPSS, or Stata for data management and analysis.

• Strong foundation in sampling theory, inferential statistics, and multivariate analysis.

• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) preferred.

• Ability to design projection models and interpret trends over multiple time periods.

Soft Skills: • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and presentation ability, especially for non-technical audiences.

• Strategic mindset with the ability to link data insights to political or public communication outcomes.

• Comfortable working under tight deadlines in a dynamic, campaign-driven environment.
