Novaya is seeking for a solid Senior SQL Server Database Developer. We're looking for a Senior SQL Server Developer to join our Hyderabad team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving real-world problems, and has hands-on experience in working with SQL Server on Azure.
- Excellent hands-on database experience and skills in developing complex MS SQL Server Stored Procedures, functions, triggers, complex T-SQL queries, views, T-SQL scripts etc.
- Excellent hands-on MS SQL Server database experience in troubleshooting, debugging, performance tuning, and query optimization in MS SQL Server.
- Strong in performance tuning and query optimization using Profiler, Execution Plans, Query Store and Wait Stats.
- Collaborate with development and systems teams on performance tuning and query optimization.
- Manages mission-critical databases, resolving incidents in collaboration with application teams.
- Proactively monitor and troubleshoot SSIS packages to ensure successful execution and resolve failures promptly.
- Experience in setting up the SQL servers in Azure IaaS Virtual machines.
- Experience in performing Database Maintenance activities like rebuilding/reorganizing indexes update statistics, checking database integrity and clean up history on regular intervals.
- Having very good experience good knowledge on Pricing models of DTU/eDTU vs Vcore Model.
- Experience in Create and configure Logical SQL servers, databases, elastic pools in Azure Cloud.
- Experience in Monitor performance and setup alerts to avoid performance issues occurring on Azure databases.
- Experience in Elastic Jobs and Run Books.
- Experience in PaaS Databases like Azure SQL single database, elastic pools and Managed instances
- Monitored Azure SQL performance using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics; developed custom dashboards and real-time diagnostics with Kusto Query Language (KQL).
- Provided 24/7 support for production environments and actively monitored performance using SQL Sentry.
- Performs routine maintenance, health checks, and capacity planning to ensure optimal server performance.
- Created alerts, monitored activity logs, and troubleshot issues using Azure Portal and Log Analytics.
- Set up Azure Automation for scheduled maintenance tasks and point-in-time restores.
- Implement database changes and rollback strategies using CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, integrated with Git projects for automated deployment and version control.
- Design scalable database schema for high-transaction and high-volume applications.
- Build complex queries, views, stored procedures, functions and triggers, optimized for high performance.
- Analyze and improve slow running SQL queries.
- Resolve database-related issues and provide solutions in a timely manner.
- Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases.
- Develop procedures and scripts for data migration.
- Build scripts for data archiving and purging.
- Build nightly jobs to handle batch activities.
- Support data encryption, masking and compliance and implement access controls to safeguard data.
- Work closely with backend engineers, DBAs, DevOps Engineers and BI analytics.
- Experience in troubleshot application performance issues and identify SQL Server bottlenecks. Performe index fragmentation and work on server performance tuning.
- Must have Expert level hands-on database development experience and skills and database maintenance experience in Azure MS SQL Server.
- 8+ years of experience working with any relational and NoSQL databases and applying it in various applications, including within the Microsoft Azure platform.
- 8+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server, including designing, developing, and implementing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
- Deep knowledge of T-SQL, performance tuning, and query optimization.
- Excellent in indexing, finding and resolving potential for database deadlocks.
- Proficiency with SQL Server security models, backups, restores, and HA/DR strategies.
- Experience using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and SQL Insights.
- Expertise in packaging and deploying SQL changes across 100s of databases as part of product releases.
- Experience with Data archiving and data purging.
- Hands on experience with NoSQL databases.
- Hands on experience with SQL Tools: SQL SentryOne, SQL Profiler, Dynatrace, Redgate
- Knowledge of SQL Server licensing and cost optimization strategies in Azure.
- Exposure to Redis Cache and MongoDB.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments.
