Job Description

8+ Years of SQL Server Database Administration. Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Replication, Transact-SQL, and other related tools. Strong proficiency in performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning. Strong knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery concepts for high transaction systems. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, hardware platforms, storage systems, networking concepts, virtualization, etc. Experience with database monitoring tools. Experience with using SQL Server on Azure Good written and verbal communication skills, both with team members and product stakeholders. Strong time management skills. Responsibilities : Manage, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability. Design and implement robust backup and recovery strategies, including regular testing of disaster recovery plans. Monitor and analyze database performance, identify bottlenecks, and apply tuning strategies to enhance efficiency. Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and installations with minimal downtime and risk. Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries, indexes, and stored procedures for application performance. Ensure database security by managing roles, permissions, encryption, and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements. Develop and maintain automated scripts for routine tasks, monitoring, and data manipulation using T-SQL and PowerShell. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, providing timely support to resolve critical incidents. Supporting SQL server in Azure environment as IAAS/SQL MI/PaaS services. Managing Azure SQL databases, SQL Managed Instances, Azure VM in Azure Portal. Coordinating with Cloud Operation teams on setting up Azure SQL configurations Monitoring the health and performance of SQL Servers as well as home grown application using SQL server Native tools and several other third-party solutions. Responsible for providing Estimates for New requirements and to work with customers to meet their Database needs. Qualifications : University or similar Degree
