Senior Software Test Engineer

Role Overview: The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing both functional and non-functional testing across core banking systems, and must have a proven track record of driving quality assurance in large-scale banking environments. As a Lead, you will manage a team of QA engineers, ensure robust test coverage, and deliver high-quality releases in a dynamic Agile environment. The role demands strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of core banking platforms. Key Responsibilities: • Lead end-to-end quality assurance efforts across core banking applications (e.g., Finacle, Flexcube, TCS Bancs, T24, etc.). • Develop and implement comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automation frameworks to ensure robust coverage of business and technical requirements. • Conduct and oversee functional, automation, and performance testing, ensuring the stability and scalability of applications. • Manage a team of QA engineers, providing mentorship, task allocation, and performance oversight. • Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Development, Business, and Infrastructure) to plan and execute testing activities in alignment with Agile/Scrum methodologies. • Track, manage, and resolve defects using appropriate tools, ensuring issues are prioritized and addressed effectively. • Monitor and report key QA metrics such as defect density, test coverage, pass/fail rates, and open defect counts to evaluate product quality. • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance test efficiency and effectiveness. • Ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory standards applicable in the banking domain. Required Skills & Experience: • 6–8 years of total experience in QA with a minimum of 2–3 years in a lead role. • Strong experience with core banking platforms (must have worked on at least one: Finacle, Flexcube, TCS Bancs, T24, etc.). • Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum practices, and test automation tools. • Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus. • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills. • Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to manage stakeholder expectations and team performance. • Experience with defect tracking tools like JIRA, ALM, Bugzilla, etc. Show more Show less
