Role Purpose
The Senior Software Engineer plays a key role in shaping how we build, scale, and evolve our product. Beyond delivering high-quality software, this role contributes to the technical health of the platform by improving patterns, reducing complexity, and helping teams make sound engineering decisions. The Senior Software Engineer acts as a trusted technical partner within the team, balancing hands-on development with guidance, collaboration, and long-term thinking to ensure our systems remain reliable, maintainable, and aligned with business goals as the product grows.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of end-to-end features and projects across both customer-facing and internal systems
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to developers at all levels, supporting growth and capability across the team
- Influence system architecture, design decisions, and implementation approaches with minimal supervision
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineering pods to deliver well-considered solutions
- Contribute to improving code quality, development workflows, and engineering standards
- Occasionally support longer-term technical initiatives, including internal tooling or architectural improvements
- Have an impact beyond individual contributions by helping the team move faster and build more sustainably
Skills & Capabilities
- Strong full-stack engineering skills with the ability to work confidently across complex systems
- Solid understanding of software architecture, design principles, and trade-offs
- Proven ability to mentor, guide, and influence other engineers
- Comfortable working cross-functionally and contributing to shared technical outcomes
- Pragmatic, quality-focused approach to building and evolving software
Technologies Experience with many of the following technologies is expected:
- JavaScript, TypeScript
- Node.js
- React, React Native
- MySQL
- HTML / CSS
Experience
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including building and maintaining production systems
- Experience working in product-focused, cross-functional teams
