Senior Software Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain

  RPG-based applications

  on IBM i platforms.
• Develop and integrate Web Services, JSON, and Web API 
• Translate business requirements into high-quality, scalable, secure, and maintainable code.
• Work collaboratively with Product Owners, QA, and multiple application and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end Supply Chain business solutions.
• Conduct root cause analysis and performance tuning of the applications.
• Modernize legacy RPG code (e.g., RPG III to RPG IV/ILE/Free Format) where necessary ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including code reviews and release notes.
• Comply with

  Change Management, PCI, PII, SOX

  policies and best practices. 
• Provide technical mentorship to junior developers.

Preferred candidate profile

• 8+ years of experiencein RPG development, including

  RPG IV, RPG ILE

  , and Free Format RPG.
• Strong hands-on experience withIBM i (AS/400, iSeries)platforms.
• Proficiency in

  CL, DDS, DB2/400

  , and service programs/modules. 
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills to address complex software programming issues. 
• Ability to work independently and drive development in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Experience withmodernization toolslike

  Visual Studio Code, RDi, Implementer, SQL, APIs, web services on IBM i, and AI.

• Familiarity withScaled Agile Framework (SAFe)/Scrum/Kanban frameworks.
• Exposure toe-Commerce, Retail, Logisticsdomains.
