About the Team

The Advertising Engineering is a group of highly skilled technologists building innovative platform products and services that enable over 100M+ users and streaming devices. We connect users to the streaming content they love and empower publishers to build and monetize large audiences. Our work spans a range of critical services that power the Roku advertising ecosystem, including marketing, sales, backend operations, campaign management, and revenue reconciliation.

Within this, the Ads Customer Interfaces team develops full-stack web applications with UI, services, and data layers that provide a unified interface to Roku's suite of advertising products. Our mission is to deliver a best-in-class user experience for internal and external advertising products, simplifying tasks while delighting users.

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned FullStack JavaScript Developer to join the Ads Customer Interfaces team. In this role, you'll leverage your expertise in React, Node.js, and TypeScript to build and scale enterprise-grade applications that power Roku's advertising ecosystem. You will work across the stack including front end, back end, and infrastructure to deliver robust, high-performing, and user-friendly solutions.
As a key member of the team, you'll collaborate with UX designers, engineers, and product managers to design and deliver features that have direct impact on both users and the business.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, develop, and deliver enterprise-grade web applications with strong attention to usability, quality, performance, and scalability.
• Build new features while continuously improving existing ones.
• Collaborate closely with designers, engineers, and product managers in a high-functioning team environment.
• Debug systems, measure performance, and optimize applications for reliability and scale.
• Flex between front-end (React, TypeScript, responsive design) and back-end (Node.js, microservices, APIs, databases) development as initiatives require.
• Work in a highly agile team focused on continuous deployment and rapid delivery of business value.
• Apply a problem-solving mindset to tackle complex challenges that impact millions of users.

We're Excited If You Have

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of software development experience with strong coding skills in React, Node.js, and TypeScript.
• Experience with web design patterns (MVC, SPA, responsive design, microsites).
• Proficiency in SQL/NoSQL databases, distributed caching, algorithms, data structures, and OOP.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, and other infrastructure technologies.
• Hands-on experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong debugging, performance tuning, and optimization skills.
• Experience or curiosity with Generative AI, whether explored at work or in personal projects.
• (Bonus) Background in ad tech or digital advertising platforms.

Our Hybrid Work Approach
