Job Description

Location: Chennai Summary of the profile: We are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Database to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our company's databases, ensuring optimal performance and security. What youll do here: Designing, implementing, and maintaining databases, ensuring high performance and data integrity. Collaborating with software engineers and architects to develop efficient database solutions. Troubleshooting and resolving database issues and coordinating with support teams to ensure smooth functioning. Developing database schemas, tables, procedures, and triggers that meet business requirements. Optimizing database queries, indexing, and performance tuning to enhance overall system performance. Conducting regular backups and implementing effective disaster recovery plans. Working with the cybersecurity team to identify and address potential vulnerabilities and ensure data security. What you will need to thrive: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a software engineer, with a focus on database development. Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries. Experience with database replication, clustering, and high-availability configurations. Strong knowledge of MySQL backup and recovery tools (e.g., mysqldump, Percona XtraBackup). Familiarity with MySQL performance tuning and optimization techniques. Solid understanding of database security best practices. Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix-based systems. Knowledge of scripting languages like Shell, Python, or Perl. Experience with NoSQL or other relational database systems. Familiarity with cloud-based MySQL solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL). Certification in MySQL or related technologies is a plus. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
