Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic, technically proficient, and results-driven Senior Sales Engineer to lead our sales efforts in the field of Solid Waste Management, Biogas Systems, and Organic Waste Converter (OWC) Machines. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in technical sales, business development, and client relationship management, with a passion for promoting sustainable and renewable energy solutions. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, managing high-value clients, conducting site assessments, and driving project sales from concept to completion. The Senior Sales Engineer will also collaborate with internal technical teams to design tailored solutions, prepare proposals, and ensure successful project execution. A proactive mindset, strategic thinking, and deep industry understanding are essential to excel in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Market Expansion
- Lead business development initiatives for Biogas and Organic Waste Converter (OWC) solutions, focusing on industrial, commercial, and government sectors.
- Identify, pursue, and convert sales opportunities with consultants, EPC contractors, builders, hospitality chains, industrial clients, and government institutions.
- Develop and implement sales strategies, regional outreach plans, and marketing activities to expand business presence and achieve revenue goals.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through networking, cold calls, site visits, and participation in sustainability forums.
- Track competitor activities, market trends, and emerging opportunities to refine the sales approach and product positioning.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders including government departments, infrastructure developers, environmental consultants, and large corporates.
- Engage with clients to understand waste management challenges, assess site conditions, and recommend tailored solutions for biogas or OWC installations.
- Deliver high-impact technical presentations, demonstrations, and feasibility discussions to decision-makers and consultants.
- Ensure excellent customer service throughout the sales cycle from proposal to project handover maintaining strong post-sales relationships for repeat business.
Technical Consultation & Proposal Management
- Conduct on-site waste assessments to analyze generation patterns, space availability, and system integration possibilities.
- Collaborate with design, engineering, and project teams to develop customized system configurations, cost estimates, and implementation plans.
- Prepare and review technical and commercial proposals, ensuring accuracy, compliance with tender requirements, and profitability.
- Coordinate with internal teams to align technical specifications, delivery timelines, and project execution strategies.
- Provide feedback from the field to support product development and process improvements.
Sales Execution & Performance Management
- Achieve assigned sales targets, profitability goals, and business KPIs.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline data, and client records in CRM systems.
- Ensure timely follow-ups, negotiations, and contract closures to meet revenue objectives.
- Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and conferences, promoting sustainability solutions and expanding brand visibility.
- Manage and monitor payment collections, ensuring commercial compliance with clients.
Leadership & Team Collaboration
- Mentor and guide junior sales engineers, providing training on products, market approach, and client handling.
- Foster a collaborative, performance-driven culture within the sales team.
- Contribute insights to strategic planning, pricing decisions, and go-to-market strategies.
- Support management in preparing business reports, market analyses, and strategic growth proposals.
Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Sciences.
- Postgraduate degree or certification in Renewable Energy, Sustainability, or Solid Waste Management is preferred.
Professional Experience:
- 6–8 years’ proven experience in Sales and Business Development within Solid Waste Management, Renewable Energy, or Environmental Engineering sectors.
- Hands-on experience in managing B2B and government projects, tenders, and consultant driven sales.
- Proven record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and revenue goals.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of biogas systems, organic waste processing, and waste-to-energy technologies.
- Ability to conduct site assessments and recommend suitable technical solutions.
- Proficiency in proposal drafting, cost estimation, and presentation preparation.
- Familiarity with MS Office, AutoCAD (basic understanding), and CRM tools.
- Knowledge of environmental norms, sustainability practices, and regulatory frameworks.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
- Strong networking skills with consultants, builders, and government departments.
