Job Title: Senior Manager-Purchase Duration: Full-time Reporting To: Director & Senior Management Compensation: 14 LPA to 16 LPA (based on experience) Experience: 8 to 13 years Location: Virar Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Purchase Manager to oversee the procurement of materials and supplies essential for manufacturing rigid plastic packaging products for the cosmetics industry, as well as products for transportation and electronics industries. The role extends across India and will involve leading the procurement team, optimizing purchasing strategies, and managing supplier relationships to ensure smooth production operations. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, supply chain management experience, and a deep understanding of the cosmetic packaging sector. Key Responsibilities Procurement & Supplier Management: • Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials across India and internationally. • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with potential suppliers, establishing long-term, reliable relationships nationwide and abroad. • Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards. • Resolve any quality, delivery, or pricing issues with suppliers, maintaining high standards of service. • Conduct regular market research to stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and potential new suppliers across various regions in India and internationally. • Prepare and maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier performance evaluations. • Regular review with the procurement team for critical inputs and feedback to top management. Development of the team to align with top management goals. • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure consistency in quality, delivery, and cost. Inventory & Supply Chain Optimization: • Oversee inventory management, ensuring stock levels align with production requirements, minimizing shortages or excess inventory to ensure no production stoppages. • Collaborate closely with production, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure timely material availability. • Ensure seamless integration of procurement and production schedules to avoid disruptions in manufacturing processes. Budgeting & Cost Control: • Continuously seek opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement within the procurement and supply chain functions. • Monitor procurement activities to ensure compliance with budget and operational targets. Reporting & Compliance: • Ensure adherence to internal procurement policies and external regulatory requirements. • Prepare regular reports on procurement activities including team performance, cost savings, supplier performance, and market trends. Travel & Cross-Functional Collaboration: • Travel across India and Abroad as required to manage supplier relationships and oversee procurement activities. • Collaborate with other departments to understand their material requirements and provide timely support. Additional Skills for International Sourcing: Global Sourcing Expertise: Ability to source materials from international suppliers, ensuring adherence to international trade regulations, shipping logistics, and customs requirements. • Import Procedures Knowledge: Familiarity with import procedures, including international customs, shipping regulations, and compliance with legal frameworks. • Supplier Network Expansion: Capability to manage and grow a supplier network across global markets while ensuring consistent quality and cost efficiency. Qualifications & Skills Education: •Bachelors degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent is a plus. Degree in mechanical engineering to understand drawings and manufacturing processes. Experience: • 8 to 12 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or purchasing, preferably in the cosmetic packaging industry. • Strong experience in supplier management, sourcing strategies, and negotiating favourable terms for the business. Technical Skills: • Strong understanding of procurement principles, supply chain management, and logistics. • Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. • Advanced proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting. • Good presentation technique. Soft Skills: • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. • Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement and supply chain activities. • Willingness to travel frequently across India and abroad to manage supplier relationships. • Knowledge of various quality standards. Preferred Certifications: While not mandatory, the following certifications will be an added advantage: Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) ISM (Institute for Supply Management) Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) – APICS Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) – American Purchasing Society Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt) – ASQ (for procurement efficiency and process optimization) Why Join Us?
