Senior Purchase Engineer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Source and procure components such as wires, cables, connectors, terminals, tubing, and related accessories for wire harness production. Evaluate and qualify new suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and technical capability. Collaborate with design and production teams to understand BOM (Bill of Materials) requirements and ensure procurement aligns with technical specifications. Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, payment terms, and long-term contracts with suppliers. Monitor market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or timelines. Develop and maintain supplier performance metrics (on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness). Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstocking. Ensure all purchased components comply with industry standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620, UL, RoHS, or customer-specific requirements. Handle import documentation and customs clearance for international purchases when necessary. Prepare and maintain procurement reports, cost analysis, and documentation for audits.
