Senior Performance Engineer

We are looking for a Performance Test Engineer with strong hands-on experience in designing, executing, and analyzing performance tests for enterprise-scale applications. The ideal candidate will have solid experience with performance testing tools, scripting, cloud platforms, and performance engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design realistic performance test scenarios that simulate production-like traffic and user behavior.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain performance test scripts with proper parameterization and correlation.
• Execute performance tests including load, stress, soak, endurance, and scalability tests.
• Work with containerized environments using Docker and orchestrate test execution on Kubernetes clusters.
• Manage and execute distributed load tests using tools such as Locust, JMeter, or Gatling.
• Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Analyze performance results and provide detailed reports covering throughput, latency, response times, error rates, and bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with DevOps, developers, and architects to identify bottlenecks and recommend tuning fixes.
• Work with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) to deploy, scale, and monitor performance test workloads.
• Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and DB validations to support backend testing.
• Define KPIs, SLAs, workload models, and performance success criteria.
• Develop performance test strategies and drive performance engineering best practices.

Skills Required

• 6+ years Core Performance Testing Skills
• Strong hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as: JMeter, Gatling, K6
• Expertise in scripting (Python, Java, or similar languages).
• Experience in performance test design: workload modeling, test data strategy, correlation, parameterization.
• Good understanding of HTTP, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Proficient with Docker for containerized test execution.
• Experience running tests on Kubernetes (AKS, EKS, GKE).
• Knowledge of cloud concepts: auto-scaling, monitoring, load balancers, resource limits.
• CI/CD & Automation:Experience automating performance tests in CI/CD pipelines:
• Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps
• Knowledge of performance gates and automated SLA validation.
• Monitoring & Analysis:Grafana, Prometheus, ELK Stack, CloudWatch, Datadog, NewRelic, or Dynatrace
• Ability to interpret performance metrics:Throughput, concurrency, error rates, P50/P90/P95/P99 latencies, server/resource utilization.

Database Skills

• Hands-on with SQL Server (must):Ability to read, debug, tune, and optimize stored procedures.Experience with PostgreSQL is a plus.
• Strong query-writing and DB profiling experience.
• Programming & Scripting:Python
• Bash/PowerShell scripting for automation.
• Familiarity with Git/GitOps workflows.
