Senior MS SQL Server DBA Engineer

Job Description

Our team is looking to bring on board a highly skilled Senior MS SQL Server DBA Engineer with AWS migration experience . This role requires a hands-on professional adept at building, managing, and optimizing large-scale SQL database systems on-premises and in the cloud, capable of transforming database infrastructures to leverage AWS capabilities. Responsibilities Build infrastructure in AWS for scalable and efficient data delivery solutions Maintain and manage high-volume database infrastructure on AWS Migrate database servers from on-premises to AWS environments Monitor and manage database systems and data pipelines supporting critical business products Troubleshoot engineering and production issues and provide hands-on expertise to resolve critical problems Support and optimize multi-terabyte database systems through tuning and administration Investigate and resolve data replication latency issues Develop automation solutions to improve team efficiency and infrastructure functionality Coordinate database/software releases across all environments, including QA, Pre-Production, Production, and DR Analyze and solve complex problems using cost/benefit analysis to implement effective solutions Diagnose and address real-time database engine and query performance issues Collaborate with IT, server management, and peer groups to resolve incidents in a timely manner Participate in cross-functional projects with operations, development, and QA teams Review existing processes and recommend improvements using new methods or tools Build and maintain best-in-class product support resources (e.g., run books, monitoring processes, tools, knowledge bases) Ensure ongoing cloud, virtual, and bare-metal database infrastructure support Requirements Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering 6+ years of work experience in IT 4+ years of hands-on database administration, support, and performance tuning experience on any relational database like Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL or Oracle 2+ years of expertise in building AWS Data Migration Services or other ETL tools Good administration knowledge in Microsoft SQL Server Good familiarity/experience with AWS, specifically infrastructure automation capabilities Good knowledge of Python or PowerShell Excellent communication skills, including strong verbal and written proficiencies We offer Opportunity to work on technical challenges that may impact across geographies Vast opportunities for self-development: online university, knowledge sharing opportunities globally, learning opportunities through external certifications Opportunity to share your ideas on international platforms Sponsored Tech Talks Hackathons Unlimited access to LinkedIn learning solutions Possibility to relocate to any EPAM office for short and long-term projects Focused individual development Benefit package: Health benefits Retirement benefits Paid time off Flexible benefits Forums to explore beyond work passion (CSR, photography, painting, sports, etc.)
