Sri Sarvaraya Sugars Limited is an Authorized Bottler of The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC), Atlanta, U.S.A., in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana State. The Beverage Division of the Company has four plants at Vemagiri, Kesavaram and Gopalapuram in Andhra Pradesh and at Sathupally, Telangana. These plants have the capacity to bottle Aerated and Non-aerated Beverages of the Coca-Cola Company, in RGB and PET Bottles. We require a suitable person for the position of “ SENIOR MICROBIOLOGIST” for an upcoming expansion at our Bottling Unit, Gopalapuram, Eluru District, Andhra Pradesh. SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager, provide support on implementation of testing requirements related to microbiology, Environment Monitoring Plan & validation of aseptic line and also to help in identification of root causes of product failure, etc. This position is responsible for the technical expertise and leadership in the all the aspects related to microbiology. The position requires an in-depth knowledge of microbiology, thermal processing ( e.g. D value, Z Value, F Value, etc.), Validation, change management, etc. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: · Work closely with the plant Validation Manager to ensure the requirements related to validation/re-validation of Aseptic line is implemented and risk assessment is carried related to microbiological risks through the change management program. · Develop and implement the environment monitoring plan for Aseptic line. · Develop and implement calibration, verification and validation plan for the lab equipment. · Implement Good Laboratory practices in the microbiology lab. · Oversee daily activities of the laboratory. · Review and approve microbiological testing records for accuracy and adherence to test method. · Identify basic technical issues, atypical or out-of-specification test results, instrumental functions, and methodology problems. · Mentors’ junior microbiologists by providing technical knowledge and support in resolving technical problems. · Participate in GMP & internal audits as a subject matter expert and ensure gaps identified during audit having risk related to microbiology failure are addressed on time. · Actively participate in investigations, problem solving, and troubleshooting · Ensure consumables are managed effectively to ensure laboratory does not run out or overspends. · Represent the microbiology department on relevant teams to help improve processes throughout the facility. · Assist in the development and implementation of training programs that govern general and microbiological specific laboratory practice. · Maintain and improve own knowledge to be able to contribute towards progression of laboratory. · Ensure performing biological assays of raw materials, in-process samples, finished product, and environmental monitoring samples. · Assure test results, procedures, and methods are written, maintained, executed, and approved in accordance with approved SOPs and regulatory requirements. · Maintain records which are legible, clear, and retrievable and make trend charts, SPC data of key micro results. · Follow OU & KORE requirements with regards to test frequency & specifications · Should complete the Microbiology Basic level found in the Microbiology Academy on Thrive or an equivalent bottling partner approved training. (New analyst must complete the training within 4 weeks of starting.) · At least one Microbiology practitioner at the lab must complete the Microbiology Advanced level or equivalent bottling partner approved training. KEY BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: · Certified Internal auditor or lead auditor for FSSC 22000 · Certification on environment monitoring · Expertise on problem solving tools is a must. · Effective communicator with training, facilitation, and supervisory skills · Self-motivation and ability to work with people at all levels of the organization. · Computer skills to include proficiency with the Microsoft Office Software · Must be capable of working unassisted with good organizational skills. · Expected to be a contributing team player, with the ability to take initiative. · Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills · Should have knowledge about PCR Techniques to identify the microorganisms. REQUIREMENTS & MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL: · Bachelor/Master of Science Degree in Microbiology/ Biochemistry. · Working knowledge of GMP, FDA, ICH, USP, and other regional and country specific guidance’s EXPERIENCE & AGE: Minimum 5 - 7 years’ experience in microbiology. Must have worked as lead microbiologist for a minimum of 3 years managing aseptic / ultra-hygiene manufacturing facility/ pharma or in infant product manufacturing industry.
