Senior Member of Technical Staff

Job Description

We are looking for an energetic, engaged, and technically strong Senior Member of Technical Staff with expertise in Java Development, DevOps and passion in solving difficult problems. The Cloud Capacity Management Service team s charter is to build fully managed, cloud native services focused on simplifying the development of Mobile and Web Applications using Oracle s Gen 2 Cloud. The service work scope encompasses not just good integration with OCI s native infrastructure (security, cloud storage, etc.), but also deep integration with other relevant cloud native services in OCI (like Oracle Kubernetes, Functions, API GW, ATP etc.). It includes cloud native ways of doing service level patching & upgrades and maintaining high availability of the service in the face of random failures & planned downtimes in the underlying infrastructure (e.g., for things like patching the Linux kernels to take care of a security vulnerability). Developing systems for monitoring and getting telemetry into the service s runtime characteristics and being able to take actions on the telemetry data is a part of the charter. As a Senior Member of Technical Staff you will own the software design and development for major Backend components of Oracles Cloud Infrastructure. Responsibilities Design, Code & Collaborate with UX and Product team to create Backend components for Application Development services Develop standardized Backend components and tools to build it efficiently Work with team to configure and build performant, resource-efficient systems Build and manage cloud native services that are automated, intelligent and self-healing Contribute ideas for continually improving the teams productivity and code delivery Qualifications 6+ years of experience in software development Excellent coding skills in Java, Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes Experience working in any cloud platform (AWS, Azure etc) Nice to have: DevOps, Python, Powershell/Bash type scripting, CI/CD understanding Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithm, & distributed system Experience working with REST APIs BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical field Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 6 years of software engineering or related experience. As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
