Overview of Growth Center:

Global Capability Center (GCC) helps growth centers of Xylem, such as AWS, Treatment, and Analytics, in a wide range of activities that include new product development, value engineering, sustained engineering, and software development. We partner with them to anticipate and respond to evolving business needs with innovation in sensing and communications technologies, data analytics, and services.

Brief Description/Job Summary:

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

• Lead sustaining engineering tasks, including engineering change requests (ECR/ECO), drawing updates, and processing documentation.
• Drive VA/VE initiatives to achieve cost savings, material optimization, and performance improvements.
• Support and contribute to New Product Development (NPD) and technology upgrade projects—early concept design through manufacturing release.
• Develop detailed 3D/2D CAD models, GD&T drawings, tolerance stack-ups, BoMs, and related manufacturing documentation.
• Conduct DFMEA, DFM, DFA, prototype validation support, and technical reviews.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Global Design Centers.
• Ensure adherence to global engineering standards, compliance, and configuration management practices

Must Have:

• Expertise in

  Creo Parametric

  (solid modelling, detailing, surfacing, and GD&T).
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes—casting, machining, injection molding, surface coating
• Ability to independently manage design tasks with accountability and milestone ownership.

Good to Have:

• Understanding of industrial products & various manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of GD&T, DFM & DFMEA, and familiarity with Windchill
• Influential interpersonal skills
• Adaptability to work for cross-functional/culture and time zones
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams and regions.

Qualifications:

• 4-Year bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized university
• 4-6 years’ relevant experience in product design, sustaining engineering, and VA/VE projects
