About Team: This business closely partners with our U.S. stores and eCommerce business to serve customers by empowering associates, stores and merchants with technology innovation. From grocery and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. provides the deep assortment that our customers appreciate whether they are shopping online at Walmart.com , through one of our mobile apps or shopping in a store. The focus areas include customer, stores and associates, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science and search ; personalization. The Acquisition and Discovery Engineering team at Walmart is dedicated to providing a seamless and delightful shopping experience to millions of shoppers worldwide. As a Senior Engineering Manager in this team, you will have the opportunity to work on top of the funnel shopping experience Homepage, Content Pages for SEO and SEM, Search Browse experiences, Deals, and Item pages across mobile and web platforms. This collaborative team made up of Engineering, UX, Product Management, Business and Analytics is rapidly iterating on new products and site features at scale. We deliver high performing solutions on our next generation front-end platform. Virtual Try-On, Gen AI integration, personalized complete-the-look, Video shopping, etc are just a few examples of the features developed by this team in collaboration with many other teams. Continuous experimentation, innovation and feedback by millions of customers makes this work even more exciting! We are responsible for design, development, and operations for Acquisition and Discovery systems encompassing multiple high qps low latency subsystems. We are building state-of-the-art machine learnt systems using cutting edge technology that has ability to A/B test in fast iterations, use GPU/CPU based online inferencing of deep learnt and traditional models, event driven architecture that serves personalized experience for customers. This will span many markets, business models and form factors, therefore, we are looking for leaders and engineers who will being not only an abundance of experiences in technologies but an abundant curiosity to innovate. Manage the software development team, including hiring, training, and conducting performance evaluations. 2. Oversee the design, development, and implementation of software applications across various platforms (iOS, Android, Web) 3. Supervise the development of the orchestration layer, backend systems ( Java) to ensure seamless integration and functionality. 4. Work closely with other teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. 5. Maintain a high level of technical expertise and industry knowledge, staying up to date with the latest technologies and trends. 6. Develop project timelines, allocate resources effectively, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. 7. Ensure software applications comply with quality standards and meet customer expectations. 8. Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement. 9. Collaborate with stakeholders, including product managers, designers, and other engineering teams, to deliver high-quality software solutions. Whatll you bring: 1. Bachelors or master As degree in Computer Science, Information Technology 2. Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the ecommerce industry. 3. Extensive knowledge of one of the mobile (iOS, Android) application development platform and web development(JS frameworks), orchestration layer, and interaction with backend systems, CMS Tools. 4. A good understanding of mobile apps technologies, front end technologies, CS. 8+ years of experience with Javascript, React JS, Redux. 5. Fundamentals, Microservices, Data Structures, Algorithms Problem Solving. 6. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate a team. 7. Strong problem-solving skills, with a creative approach to overcoming challenges. 8. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 9. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies. 10. Up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies. 11. Strong knowledge of matrix management. 12. Ability to foster innovation and engineering excellence within a team. 13.
