Senior Manager of Software Development

Role Overview: Expedia Group is looking for a Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering to join their team and help revolutionize the way people search and book travel. As a part of the Distribution and Supply team, you will be responsible for owning Pricing, Inventory, Reservation, and Offers to ensure travelers have a seamless experience. Your role will involve building, growing, and shaping teams, leading multiple complex initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to all phases of the software development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: - Build, grow, and shape adaptive teams around their goals, ownership, and career development - Lead and collaborate on multiple complex initiatives, making resource and architectural trade-offs - Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle for enterprise applications projects - Collaborate with leaders to architect robust applications and choose relevant technologies - Support technical leads and individual contributors through coaching, training, and development - Create a positive work environment based on accountability and inclusiveness - Mentor the team and establish credibility through quality technical execution - Advocate for operational excellence and ensure customer requirements are met - Remain informed on industry trends and identify inefficiencies in the existing stack - Bridge the gap in discussions between technology and non-technology personnel Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related technical field or equivalent professional experience - 7+ years of software development experience in an object-oriented language - 3+ years of people management experience with a passion for growing individual careers and enabling high-performing teams - Hands-on technologist with strong technical acumen and commitment to quality of engineering work - Excellent communication skills and effective collaborator - Strong ability to switch contexts and provide details to support ideas - Ownership of outcomes and accountability for delivering impactful results while continuously learning and improving,
