Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer (Java)

In this role, you will be working on complex projects both internal and for our global clients involving distributed systems, scalable microservices, and cloud-based deployments. Youll collaborate closely with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams to design and deliver robust and efficient backend systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Development:

  Develop scalable, high-performance microservices using Java (Spring Boot or Dropwizard).

• System Architecture:

  Partner with Lead Software Architect to design system integrations, data flows, and backend architectures.

• API Development:

  Design and build secure RESTful and gRPC APIs ensuring performance and scalability.

• Database Design:

  Develop efficient schemas, queries, and manage integrations with SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB).

• Cloud Deployment:

  Deploy and maintain applications in AWS (EC2, RDS, S3) or other cloud environments.

• Collaboration:

  Work closely with business and client teams to gather requirements, propose solutions, and deliver enhancements.

• Code Quality:

  Write clean, reusable, and testable code; perform peer reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.

• CI/CD:

  Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.

• Optimization:

  Identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective performance improvements.

• Continuous Improvement:

  Refactor and enhance existing codebases for better maintainability and efficiency.

Core Qualifications

• 6-9 years of experience in Java development and backend system design.
• Strong grasp of

  Java (J2EE)

  and

  object-oriented design principles

  .
• Hands-on experience with

  Spring Boot

  and

  Dropwizard

  frameworks.
• Strong expertise in

  RESTful API

  development and integration.
• Solid understanding of

  SQL

  ,

  schema design

  , and

  JDBC

  .
• Working knowledge of

  AWS

  (EC2, RDS, S3) and

  CI/CD tools

  (Jenkins, Git, Maven, Gradle).
• Familiarity with

  NoSQL databases

  such as DynamoDB or MongoDB.

  Hibernate/JPA

  for ORM and database integration.
• Experience writing

  unit tests

  (JUnit, Mockito).
• Strong knowledge of

  Git

  and

  Agile/Scrum

  practices.
• Familiarity with

  front-end frameworks

  like Angular or React is an added advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
