Job Description

Senior Interior Designer 4+ Years Position Responsibilities Actively leads distinct portions of mid-scale projects with periodic supervision by Project Leadership. Exhibits initiative, design innovation, process innovation, problem solving, and decision quality with a high attention to precision and accuracy at an overall project level Ability to independently create innovative design concepts for different genres of mid-scale projects such as single family residential, multi-family residential, commercial, hospitality, institutional, etc. Has the ability to quickly assess scope, requirements and complexities of different genres of projects through research, experience and interaction with project heads. Produces, coordinates and/or oversees excellent presentation and contract deliverables such as concepts, diagrams, drawings, 3D models/ scaled models, renderings, and walk-throughs. Effectively communicates internally with project teams and externally with consultants and clients through timely and appropriate written, oral, and visual means. Creates and innovates with a strong conceptual design ability. Integrates interdisciplinary criteria to effectively move forward the design of distinct portions of large projects and entire small projects. Actively collaborates at a project, consultant team, and client team level by critically and constructively evaluating ideas and able to make independent decisions on smaller points. Oversees design team in ensuring that documentation for all phases conforms to BNA standards ensuring quality control and best practice standards Has an overall understanding of building materials, construction systems, project costs, with the ability to coordinate material to generate a BOQ independently for small projects and under the supervision of a Project Architect for mid-scale to large projects Ability to be actively involved in creation of material specification and good knowledge of market rates and presents rate analysis when required Manages project timeline/ schedules and workload of own work efforts and those of others to meet project task deadlines and commitments, with occasional interaction and direction from Project Leadership. Guides and mentors less experienced staff. Good experience on site to understand site issues, ability to troubleshoot and provide solutions at site Ability to conduct independent site visits and organize project team meetings at the project site to identify construction issues on-site, document them, and provide a suitable solution. Good Vendor knowledge for different aspects of projects Contributes to and actively participates within the studio and the office Leadership Responsibilities Inspires and leads others by example, participates in staff mentoring and training, clearly defines team member expectations and responsibilities, empowers others, and delegates where appropriate based on team members’ recognized abilities and potential. In collaboration with team members, contributes to a clear and consistent work plan to achieve the project budget, deliverables, and schedule. Actively engages and seeks internal/external professional development opportunities. Contributes to the development of standards, design libraries, vendor programs, policies, and procedures. Ability to independently and effectively communicate with internal teams and with external consultants on certain aspects of projects Actively collaborates at a project team level by critically and constructively evaluating ideas. Actively engages in office development activities at various levels Actively upskills with regards to software/ design and construction technologies/ new ways of working. Manages time and workload to meet project task deadlines and commitments with frequent interaction and direction from Project Leadership. Minimum Qualifications Completion of a professional degree in Architecture or Interior Design Minimum 4-5 years of experience. Strong design skills in Interior Design Strong verbal and written communication skills. Skilled in, SketchUp, Enscape, Rhino and other rendering software, and Adobe Suite (Adobe Photoshop, In Design and other relevant Adobe software). Proficiency in Google Workspace.
