Job Description

The Indirect Category Specialist will be responsible for supporting of the Global Category Manager in executing strategic sourcing initiatives and maintaining supplier relationships within the IT category, contributing to cost savings, risk mitigation, and operational excellence. Main Responsibilities Assist the Category Manager in executing strategic sourcing strategies for the IT category by conducting thorough market analysis and supplier research. Participate in the development of sourcing plans and strategies that align with overall procurement goals and organizational objectives. Aid in maintaining and nurturing relationships with key IT suppliers, ensuring open lines of communication and mutual understanding. Provide support in contract negotiation processes, helping to secure favourable terms and conditions. Monitor supplier performance regularly, addressing any issues related to delivery, quality, or service promptly. Assist in managing IT contracts throughout their lifecycle, including tracking contract milestones, ensuring compliance, and coordinating timely renewals. Support the creation and maintenance of comprehensive contract documentation and records. Support agreed global/divisional and lead regional/local tenders & sourcing projects as well as contract negotiations to deliver best value and ensure compliance with The Way and Atlas Copco Business Code of Practice. Support dedicated global procurement projects for the IT category. Drive and support cost-saving initiatives by performing spend analysis to identify areas for potential savings. Conduct benchmarking activities to compare costs and performance against industry standards and best practices. Help assess and mitigate risks associated with IT suppliers and contracts, identifying potential issues and developing risk management plans. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as IT, finance, and legal departments, to understand their requirements and ensure procurement strategies align with their needs. Identify opportunities for process improvement within the IT procurement function, recommending and assisting in implementing best practices. Contribute to the development and refinement of procurement processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Assist in defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of procurement activities. Prepare regular reports on procurement performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement. Stay informed about industry trends and market developments to support decision-making. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies. Support an implementation of a strategic supplier management program to reduce the number of non-strategic suppliers. Support an implementation of effective global contract management practices, supplier due diligence and supplier risk management. Follows instructions given by superior and dotted line superior Skills / Knowledge / Experience Relevant Previous experience (minimum years of experience to competently carry out the role, not total year of experience) o Minimum 5 years procurement experience and preferably experience in regional role o 2 years in a strategic role, or experience in developing category strategies within 5 years experience Knowledge areas/Skills (minimum level of knowledge to fullfil the role s responsibilities) o Cost analysis and supply market intelligence o Excellent communication skills across all levels of an organisation, both internally and with suppliers o Track record improving supply chains, supplier relationships and performance o Procurement and supply chain process Other requirements (e. g. Language skills; competencies; expected travel requirements) o Full fluency in English written and spoken o Interaction with stakeholders & leadership o Self-motivated requiring minimal guidance from management o Willingness to travel as when the business conditions and strategies require
