Job Description

Role & responsibilities

GST Compliance & Return Filing

Prepare, review, and file GST returns:
GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2B reconciliation, GSTR-9/9C (support)
within due dates.
Ensure accurate classification of goods/services under
HSN/SAC
, applicable tax rates, place of supply, and reverse charge mechanisms (RCM).
Track
input tax credit (ITC)
eligibility and ensure maximum lawful ITC utilization.
Monitor GST portal notices, respond to queries, and maintain compliance records.

Reconciliation & Reporting

Perform monthly reconciliation of:
Sales register vs GSTR-1
Purchase register vs GSTR-2B
3B vs books of accounts
Identify mismatches, follow up with vendors for missing/incorrect invoices, and ensure timely corrections.
Maintain GST MIS/summary reports for management.

Accounts Support

Assist in day-to-day accounting entries related to sales, purchases, expenses, and GST impact.
Verify vendor invoices for GST correctness (GSTIN, tax breakup, RCM, etc.).
Support audits (internal/external) by providing GST workings, registers, and documents.

Coordination & Documentation

Coordinate with procurement, sales, warehouse, and vendors to ensure proper GST documentation.
Maintain organized records of invoices, debit/credit notes, e-way bills, , and GST workings.
Assist in process improvement for GST control and documentation.

Preferred candidate profile

Strong knowledge of
GST laws, return filing, and ITC rules
.
Hands-on experience with
GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and GSTR-2B reconciliation
.
Good understanding of
accounting systems (Tally/ERP/SAP etc.)
.
Proficiency in Excel, reconciliations, MIS, and reports.
Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and compliance-oriented approach.
