The Opportunity

Join our team at Nutanix as a Sr Engineering Manager where you will lead product strategy, roadmap execution, and cross-functional collaboration for Nutanixs enterprise file services platform. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, product leadership, customer empathy, and business acumen. You will own end-to-end lifecycle management, drive innovation, and ensure Nutanix Files remains the leading software-defined, scale-out file storage solution in the market.

Your mission will be to help build reliable, efficient, and high-performance software for large-scale enterprise and hybrid clouds. Your work will involve understanding complex distributed systems and solving customer requirements. By assembling a team of highly motivated engineers and building a reliable data platform and driving the adoption of best practices, you will contribute to the success of our products. About the Team

The Nutanix Files team is a highly collaborative group of engineers, product managers, architects, and customer success experts dedicated to building a world-class, scale-out file services platform. The team operates at the intersection of distributed systems, storage innovation, security, and cloud technologies. We thrive on solving complex technical problems, driving customer-centric innovation, and delivering enterprise-grade solutions used by thousands of customers globally.

We work closely with cross-functional teams across Nutanixincluding AOS, Data Services, Security, Performance, Support, and GTM functionsto ensure seamless platform integration and an exceptional customer experience. The team values open communication, accountability, innovation, and a strong bias for action. As a Senior Manager, you will lead and mentor a talented group, shape the product direction, and collaborate with some of the best minds in the industry to drive the next phase of growth for Nutanix Files.

Your Role

People Management

Lead and grow a strong software engineering team of engineers spread across multiple locations in India by focusing on establishing a culture of empowerment and growth.
Responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, and career planning of engineers.

Product and Technical

Collaborate with other Product teams, QA and Product Management in defining the technical roadmap for the Files product.
Drive scalable, extensible architecture by participating in architecture and technical design for a data platform.

Engineering Process & Release Management

Establish software development best practices and streamline release planning process to drive iterative and rapid feature deployment working with teams across geographies.
Drive development of timely and high-quality software releases
Collaborate with Program Management to define the release process.

What You Will Bring

BA, BS, or MS degree in computer science or related streams
15+ years experience in software product development.
4+ years experience in Engineering Management or Technical Leadership.
Deep understanding of file storage architectures (NFS/SMB), scale-out storage systems, data protection, distributed systems, and cloud-native storage.
Strong technical background with the ability to engage engineering at design and architecture levels.
Proven track record in delivering enterprise-grade software products at scale.
Excellent communication skills, stakeholder management, and executive presence.
Experience interacting with customers, partners, and field teams globally.
