Role & responsibilities Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and procedures to support organisational goals, including cost reduction, quality improvement, and risk mitigation. Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery reliability, and technical capabilities. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to achieve favourable terms and conditions while maintaining quality and service levels. Collaborate with engineering teams to understand project requirements, technical specifications, and material requirements and ensure alignment with procurement objectives. Manage supplier relationships, performance, and compliance, conducting regular supplier assessments, audits, and evaluations to drive continuous improvement. Lead supplier selection and sourcing activities for new projects, products, and initiatives, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgetary constraints. Monitor market trends, industry dynamics, and supplier capabilities to identify cost savings, innovation, and risk mitigation opportunities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and logistics, to optimise supply chain processes and mitigate supply chain risks. Utilize procurement tools and systems (e.g., ERP systems, e-procurement platforms) to streamline procurement workflows, automate processes, and improve efficiency. Provide leadership and mentorship to procurement teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence. Preferred candidate profile Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Masters degree preferred. Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in the engineering industry. Strong technical expertise in engineering materials, components, and manufacturing processes. Proven track record of successfully managing procurement projects, supplier relationships, and supply chain processes. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to drive cost savings and value creation through effective supplier negotiations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams, stakeholders, and suppliers. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in procurement processes and documentation. Proficiency in procurement tools and systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ariba) and Microsoft Office Suit.
