Job Description - Senior Engineer, Gearbox, GBP,SVS . Introduction We are seeking a highly skilled the Mechanical Senior Engineer position will be part of the Global Metso Services Gearbox team providing engineering and technical support to the Metso s Services group. This position takes responsibility for the of gearbox design and drafting. This includes data maintenance and data improvement activities related to gearing related data. This is coupled with overall understanding of the gearbox system design. Position will be the part of team supporting interface to manufacturing, gear component suppliers and the bearing manufacturers. It requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize work on several projects simultaneously and present a positive, cooperative demeanor with customers and co-workers. The candidate will report to Deputy Manager and will be based in Vadodara, Gujarat. What you ll do Provides technical expertise and supervision on Metso Services projects. Provides local and global expertise and support in Metso Services. This includes design, fabrication, quality assurance, sourcing and troubleshooting. Working with the capital equipment business areas, initiates, executes, maintains, and manages our product specifications, design programs, and various development projects. Develop gearbox and drivetrain solutions for in heavy industry applications. Responsible of gearbox design and drafting Serve as the calculation support for reverse engineering, build-to-specification, and the development of inhouse-designed components and products. Support to troubleshoot design issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to resolve mechanical and engineering challenges. Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and safety regulations. Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical bearings and gearing documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and engineering reports. Support internal stakeholders of procurement and sales functions in cooperation of the head of the SVS GBP and drivetrain technology function and the core SVS GBP and drivetrain technology team. Understand the Voices of the Customers in drivetrains domain and present the technical content. Provide technical guidance to gearing and bearing suppliers to ensure compliance with engineering specifications (drawings and specifications). Good knowledge and hand on experience of gearbox design standard with ISO | AGMA | DIN | IS Who you are. BE/ ME or BTech / MTech degree from relevant area of Mechanical design and extensive experience of 5-7 Yrs+ from gearbox design and manufacturing organization . Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks , Autodesk Inventor, Siemens NX) and PLM tools (e.g. Teamcenter , Vault, Enovia ) Gearing + bearings calculation tools knowledge is required in this position (e.g., KISSsoft, ST-plus, bearing X, Sim Pro). Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, manufacturing processes, and structural analysis. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex engineering challenges. Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and regulations related to mechanical design in heavy industries. Working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office Products Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, capable of articulating technical concepts to various stakeholders. Capability to make decisions independently while working as part of a team SKILLS AND ABILITIES Good communication and leadership skills. Autonomous, capable of making decisions, work with minimum supervision. Product knowledge of major mining equipment and similar heavy equipment industries is required Theoretical and practical background in Mechanical Engineering design principles and machine design (structural, machining, gearboxes, bolting, manufacturing, welding, casting, NDT methods, etc.). Ability to support, plan and organize technical projects. Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings in the English and Metric and Imperial System. Apply and respect company policies, objectives, goals, safety, and ISO and ANSI quality standards.
