Designation : Senior Civil Engineer Reporting to : Project Manager Department : Project Management Industry : Construction Location : Sanand, Ahmedabad Job Overview: A Senior Engineer at a construction site plays a crucial role in overseeing project execution, ensuring quality and safety, and coordinating with stakeholders. Their responsibilities include planning, supervision, and ensuring compliance with design specifications and regulations. Responsibilities: 1. Site Supervision & Execution • Oversee construction activities and ensure they align with approved drawings, specifications, and project timelines. • Conduct site inspections to identify and rectify technical or structural issues. • Monitor subcontractors and workforce efficiency. 2. Quality Assurance & Control • Ensure materials meet specifications and conduct quality checks at various stages. • Verify workmanship and adherence to construction standards (IS codes, ASTM, etc.). • Conduct inspections and tests to prevent defects and rework. 3. Safety & Compliance • Ensure implementation of site safety procedures as per OSHA and local regulations. • Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventive measures. • Organize safety training for site workers. 4. Project Planning & Coordination • Work closely with project managers to prepare schedules and resource allocation plans. • Coordinate with architects, consultants, and vendors to resolve design and material supply issues. • Monitor site progress and provide reports to senior management. 5. Documentation & Reporting • Maintain records of daily work progress, material usage, and site expenses. • Prepare reports on delays, issues, and solutions for project stakeholders. • Ensure all documentation is up-to-date, including drawings, approvals, and permits. 6. Cost & Resource Management • Assist in budgeting and controlling project costs. • Optimize resource allocation to avoid delays and wastage. • Approve material requests and ensure efficient use of resources. 7. Technical Problem-Solving & Innovation • Identify site challenges and provide technical solutions. • Recommend innovative construction methods to improve efficiency. • Ensure adherence to sustainable construction practices where applicable.
