Senior Embedded Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced IoT embedded system developer whose primary responsibility will participating in IoT hardware product development and contributing in most of the parts of the process such as planning, hardware design, hardware behaviour, firmware development, manufacturing process and cloud data reporting architecture. You will collaborate closely with hardware engineers, software engineers of Smart Buildings team and other stakeholders to deliver robust and efficient IoT embedded systems. Ideal candidates will have capabilities in writing firmware in C, C++, Squirrel Language, Electronic circuits, Schematic and PCB designing, overall product development and cloud computing. Will have excellent skills in collaborative problem solving, the willingness to overcome hardware constraints, and the internal drive to create quality products. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop embedded software for IoT devices, including firmware, device drivers, and communication protocols. Play an active role in the product design, manufacturing, and cloud architecture design processes. Work closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements, specifications, and architecture for IoT products. Integrate sensors, actuators, and other hardware components into embedded systems. Implement and optimize IoT connectivity solutions (e.g., MQTT, CoAP, HTTP) for seamless device communication and data exchange. Develop secure embedded software solutions to safeguard IoT devices from cybersecurity threats. Design and develop efficient electronic circuits for battery-powered sensing IoT devices. Create high-level architecture for device data processing pipelines and health monitoring and troubleshooting systems. Conduct testing and debugging of embedded systems to ensure reliability, stability, and performance. Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in IoT and embedded systems. Skills & Experience: Bachelor s degree in of Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Proven experience in embedded systems development, including real-time operating systems (RTOS) and microcontrollers / microprocessors. Experience in IoT product manufacturing from various aspects such as vendor management, component sourcing, prototyping and various large scale assembly processes. Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, and assembly language for embedded systems. Experience with IoT communication protocols and standards (e.g., MQTT, CoAP, Lora WAN). Experience in squirrel programming for Electric IMP platform will be a plus. Understanding of electronic circuits and experience in designing and developing schematics and PCB layouts. Experience of hardware protocols such I2C, SPI, one wire is necessary. Experience with low-power design and advanced sleep modes. Good experience in simulation and designing of electronic circuits and PCB layouts. Experience interfacing with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 modules. Knowledge of IoT communication protocols such as MQTT, WebSocket, LoRa, BLE etc. will be preferable. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub) and edge computing. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Familiarity with wireless technologies (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee). Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices for embedded systems. Prior experience in IoT product development and deployment.
