Senior Director / VP Software & Systems Architecture, Digital Pathology

The engineering team at Evident has developed the world's most advanced whole-slide imaging platform, trusted by more than 30 top-tier medical institutions, and is now moving towards intelligent imaging for real-time AI inference at the edge. **Role Overview:** As a leader in software architecture at Evident, you will be responsible for defining and driving the architecture for the next-generation Autonomous Digital Pathology platform. This role involves extending autonomy across the ecosystem, from robotic slide handling and imaging to inference, monitoring, data orchestration, and user experiences, contributing to the mission of delivering intelligent digital pathology systems globally. **Key Responsibilities:** - Define and evolve the platform architecture, integrating robotics, imaging, AI, and data pipelines. - Architect frameworks for robotic motion control, sensor fusion, and adaptive imaging to enable high-throughput scanning. - Optimize CPU and GPU architectures for camera controls, AI inference, and real-time image analysis. - Architect the on-prem and cloud data infrastructure connecting scanners, metadata, AI inference, and analytics. - Mentor the engineering team, collaborate with other departments, and represent Evident's technology vision. **Qualifications:** **Required:** - 20+ years in software engineering with 5+ years in architectural or senior technical leadership roles. - Expertise in distributed systems, edge computing, and cloud-native architecture. - Deep experience in robotics software frameworks, CPU/GPU architectures, and AI inference optimization. - Proficiency in Linux, Docker/Kubernetes, networking, and database design. - Track record of integrating AI/ML pipelines into production environments. - Exceptional communication and team-building skills. **Preferred:** - Experience in digital pathology, medical imaging, or automation systems. - Familiarity with DICOM/PACS, AI inference frameworks, and compliance standards. - Background in hardware-software co-optimization and vision-guided robotics.,
