The Senior Director of Communications is responsible for leading internal and external communications strategy for Walmart Global Tech activity within India. This role requires a visionary leader who can articulate and drive the companys communication strategy, enhance its brand reputation, and foster a unified and engaged workforce. About the Team Walmart is a people-led, tech-powered company and our Walmart Global Tech team is building the future of retail. We are searching for an experienced technology communicator who wants to be at the center of it. This person will lead a team of internal, external, digital and event marketing professionals. This is a high impact role for someone who wants to push the boundaries of what s possible. What youll do Develop and execute a program that elevates our position as a tech employer of choice, builds our reputation as a people-led, tech-powered omnichannel retailer and drives thought leadership status. Serve as a member of Walmart Global Tech in India s leadership team, collaborating with senior management to ensure communication support business initiatives. Proactively and regularly invest time to build relationships with national and local media, new and traditional Collaborate with the Walmart Global Tech in U.S. communications team to tell localized, but comprehensive stories in both countries Have the ability to make complex tech topics simple and easy to understand, as well as dive into the tech to tell a more technical narrative Bring creativity and a data-driven learning-mindset to modernize the way we communicate Integrate new communications tools into our team s ways of working, e.g., GenAI What you ll bring Experience working in tech comms both in-house and at an agency Strong understanding of the Indian media landscape and cultural nuances, with established relationships with business and tech reporters Strong grasp of the tech speaking circuit Understanding of relevant industry associations and government bodies Extremely high standards and care about the details A proven track record of exceeding goals and expectations, and moving with speed Ability to nurture a talented team Minimum of 15 years of experience in corporate communications, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in additional Indian languages is a plus
