Senior DevOps Engineer, Streaming Data Infrastructure

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join Procore's Product & Technology Team. Procore's mission is to enhance the construction industry, with the Product & Technology team driving innovation on a global scale. As a customer-centric group, we encompass engineering, product design, data, security, and business systems. In this role, you will collaborate with engineering teams, product managers, and architects to design, build, and manage Procore's streaming data platform. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the platform's reliability, scalability, and performance through automation and operational excellence. Reporting to a Senior Engineering Manager, this position is based in our Bangalore office and requires an immediate start. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing, implementing, and managing scalable and resilient streaming data infrastructure, with a focus on Kafka and its ecosystem. - Developing and maintaining automation tools and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for provisioning, configuring, and operating streaming data services. - Collaborating with software engineers to optimize streaming data pipelines and applications for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency. - Implementing and managing monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions for the streaming data platform. - Ensuring the security, reliability, and performance of data platform services through continuous improvement. - Participating in code reviews, system design discussions, and troubleshooting production issues. - Contributing to the full DevOps lifecycle from infrastructure design to deployment, operations, and support. - Staying updated on industry trends and best practices in DevOps and distributed systems. Qualifications we are looking for: - 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or similar roles, with a focus on streaming data platforms. - Hands-on experience with Kafka administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. - Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable infrastructure solutions using modern programming languages for automation. - Experience with AI-powered development tools to enhance engineering workflows. - Deep understanding of cloud platforms, infrastructure-as-code tools, containerization, orchestration, monitoring, and logging tools. - Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
