Senior Design Engineer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities 1. Design and Development - Lead the design of mechanical components and assemblies for road sweepers and cleaning equipment. - Create detailed 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings using SolidWorks. - Develop designs for sheet metal fabrication, part assemblies, and welded structures. - Conduct design reviews and oversee ECNs (Engineering Change Notices). 2. Team Management - Supervise and mentor a team of 2–3 junior engineers, assigning tasks and ensuring project deadlines are met. - Provide technical guidance on BOM preparation, exploded views, and fabrication drawings. - Knowledge of PDM 3. Prototyping and Testing - Support the manufacturing team with clear documentation for prototypes. - Analyze test results and implement design changes to enhance product performance. 4. Collaboration and Innovation - Work with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are practical for manufacturing and cost-effective. - Identify opportunities for design optimization and innovation. Qualifications - B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or similar stream. - Proficiency in SolidWorks and mechanical design principles. - Expertise in sheet metal fabrication, BOM creation, and ECN management. - Experience in leading and managing a team of junior engineers. - Knowledge of road sweeper or cleaning equipment design (preferred).
