Senior Design Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Design Engineer who will be part of the India RD&E organization in Danfoss Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Controls Division (RAC) and will report to Manager for NPD (New product Development). Job Responsibilities Product Development for commercial and Industrial Valves and Switches for Refrigeration and Air conditioning systems Approval and standards Design responsibility Drive design changes Cost optimization Continuous quality improvements Key tasks Development of Product Design ideas based on market requirement that could be converted into a product Assess and execute Design tasks to move from concepts both on technology and as per the requirement, to a saleable product Function in a team towards project execution from concept to production and complete the activities defined in all milestone deliverables ¢ Hands-on design calculation. Make detailed Part drawings, Assembly drawings, BOM, design specification sheets and drive process improvements ¢ Execution of Product Design verification and validations- Development of test procedures, necessary fixtures and testing ¢ Collaborating with cross functional team and external suppliers for prototype and testing activities. ¢ Support / Lead in managing Design reviews and using Design Tools during the project phases. ¢ Knowledge of TS quality systems / audits / tools Success Criterias ¢ Keep promised deadlines ¢ Maintain robust product design while continuously improving quality and reducing cost. Background & Skills Minimum requirements to educational background ¢ Bachelors/ Masters degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering ¢ 6-10 years experience with design of mechanical products (Valve and Switches design will be an advantage) Minimum requirements to working experience. ¢ NPD Competencies: Product related knowledge Sound engineering practices & following safety standards Project Management skills Knowledge of PDP processes Product quality standards - FMEA, DOE, etc Concept development Experience with 3D CAD (knowledge of Autodesk Inventor will be an advantage) Working experience in using PLM like Teamcenter, SAP ¢ Material Competencies: Selecting appropriate Materials for defined application needs. Knowledge of different materials and their applications. Know-how of Material Treatment processes and their applications. ¢ Manufacturing Competencies: Proficient knowledge and know-how of different Manufacturing Processes. Part Manufacturing viz., Forging, Casting, Forming, Machining, etc. Assembly Manufacturing, viz., Fastening, Welding/Brazing, Press-fit, etc. Joint-Design-Discussions with Suppliers for Part Development. Analyse Design for CO2 emissions, propose a suitable solution for low CO2 emission. ¢ Simulations: Knowledge of Structural Simulation and further Analysis for improving Design. Know-how on Fluid Simulation.
