We are hiring Sr Manager- Business Development -Goverment IT Projects for our Team at Delhi location


Job Summary:

Shyam Steel is seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Sr. Manager – Government Sales based in Delhi. This role is focused on acquiring and managing government business account through direct sales of IT hardware (laptops, CPUs, networking equipment, peripherals) and associated services. The position is an individual contributor role, requiring a strong understanding of government procurement processes, tenders, and the ability to independently manage the entire sales cycle—from opportunity identification to contract closure. The candidate will play a key role in expanding the company’s footprint across various government departments and agencies.

Responsibilities :

  • Identify, research, and evaluate government procurement opportunities at central, state, and local levels.
  • Prepare and submit high-quality bids, proposals, and RFP responses that comply with all government requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in government and public sector entities to strengthen market presence.
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify new business opportunities and inform sales strategies.
  • Coordinate with internal teams such as marketing, pre-sales, and product to ensure alignment on bid strategies and solution offerings.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure favorable commercial and legal terms in alignment with company policies.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of opportunities, interactions, and bid-related activities in CRM systems.
  • Stay updated on government policies, budget allocations, and emerging trends relevant to IT hardware and networking products.

Meet and exceed assigned sales targets while maintaining compliance with all internal governance standards.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 8–12 years of experience in Government sales, particularly dealing with IT hardware and networking products.
  • Proven track record of winning bids and managing tender processes in the public sector.
  • Strong knowledge of GeM portal, e-procurement systems, and government contract management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of working autonomously in a dynamic environment.

Proficiency with CRM tools and MS Office Suite.
