Job Summary
We are looking for a
Senior Business Analyst
with a strong background in the
Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI)
domain.The role involves leading a team of 8–10 Business Analysts and working closely with delivery, pre-sales, and sales teams.The candidate should have a
consultative approach
, capable of understanding client needs, proposing suitable solutions, and ensuring effective project execution from requirement gathering to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Functional Activities
- Conduct requirement gathering sessions with business users, stakeholders, and clients.
- Analyze business needs, existing processes, and system dependencies.
- Prepare and maintain BA deliverables including:
- Business Requirement Document (BRD)
- Functional Requirement Document (FRD)
- Software Requirement Specification (SRS)
- Statement of Work (SOW)
- User Stories, Use Cases, and Acceptance Criteria
- Perform process mapping, gap analysis, and impact assessment.
- Support QA and development teams during the entire SDLC for functional clarifications.
- Coordinate UAT and manage issue tracking and closure.
Team Leadership
- Lead and manage a team of 8–10 Business Analysts across multiple projects.
- Assign tasks, review outputs, and ensure documentation quality and consistency.
- Monitor timelines, delivery quality, and team performance.
- Conduct peer reviews and support knowledge sharing within the BA team.
Project Management Support
- Support project scope definition, effort estimation, and change request evaluation.
- Maintain project documentation including RAID logs and traceability matrices.
- Track progress and coordinate between business, technical, and QA teams.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and review sessions in Agile projects.
Pre-Sales and Consulting Support
- Work with the Pre-Sales and Sales teams to understand client requirements and contribute to proposal and solution design.
- Participate in client discovery calls, solution walkthroughs, and proposal discussions.
- Assist in preparing functional scope documents, effort estimations, and responses to RFPs/RFIs.
- Present business solutions and workflows to prospective clients with a consultative approach, focusing on business value.
- Collaborate with internal teams to translate client requirements into feasible solution designs.
BFSI Domain Expertise
- Deep understanding of banking, insurance, or financial services workflows - such as lending, payments, underwriting, claims, and compliance processes.
- Ensure solutions align with regulatory and compliance frameworks (KYC, AML, data protection, etc.).
- Support design of analytical dashboards and reporting requirements for business decision-making.
Required Skills
- 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Functional Consultant in the BFSI domain.
- Hands-on experience preparing BRD, FRD, SRS, and SOW documents.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and exposure to Agile and Waterfall models.
- Experience leading and mentoring a team of Business Analysts.
- Strong knowledge of core banking, insurance, financial products, and compliance processes.
- Excellent command of tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence, MS Visio, and MS Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for client-facing roles.
- Proven ability to work with Sales, Pre-Sales, and Technical teams in a consultative manner.
Preferred Skills
- Certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or Agile BA.
- Experience supporting proposal creation and client solution presentations.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and integration frameworks.
- Exposure to digital transformation and automation projects in BFSI.
