Job Description

Role & responsibilities Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on Google BigQuery. Experience leading a technical team of GCP in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, including optimization techniques such as query restructuring, indexing, and materialized views. Expertise in Google BigQuery administration, architecture, and end-to-end knowledge of BigQuery functionalities Develop and maintain custom functions in BigQuery to support complex data processing tasks Design and develop scalable, high-performance data pipelines and ETL processes using BigQuery Proficiency in working with large-scale datasets and implementing strategies for data partitioning, clustering, and optimization in BigQuery. In-depth understanding of cloud-based data warehousing concepts and architectures, preferably on Google Cloud Platform. Translate client requirements into technical design and implement components for data engineering solutions. Experience with data modeling, schema design, and performance tuning in BigQuery. Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance within the BigQuery environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and performance bottlenecks. Experience working in Agile/Scrum development methodologies. Develop and maintain documentation for data models, queries, and custom functions. Preferred candidate profile Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 5+ years of experience working as a data engineer, database developer, or BigQuery developer. Proficiency in SQL programming and database concepts, with hands-on experience in developing complex queries and optimizing query performance. Experience working with cloud-based data platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Hands-on experience with data integration tools and technologies such as Google Dataflow, Apache Beam, or equivalent. Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance standards, especially in a cloud environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Google Cloud certifications focusing on data engineering or relevant domains Hands-on experience with various cloud-based data platforms and tools like BigQuery ML, Bigtable, Data Studio, and Looker. Skilled in programming languages such as Python for data processing and scripting purposes
