Senior Backend Engineer - RingCentral Events About RingCentral Events: RingCentral events is an all-in-one solution for virtual, onsite, or hybrid events where AI enhances every milestone, from planning to execution. Position Overview: As a Senior Engineer for RingCentral Events, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining our virtual event platform. This role demands a strong skill set in building cloud services with NodeJS, ensuring our product's scalability and performance for large audience events. Key Responsibilities: Build and maintain scalable backend systems using NodeJS ensuring robust performance for large-scale virtual events. Use technologies like WebSocket's, WebRTC and RTMP to develop real-time communication and streaming capabilities. Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and distributed messaging systems, particularly Kafka Engineer SaaS based offerings that are reliable, observable and scalable, catering to a large number of concurrent users both virtually and onsite. Implement cloud-based solutions using AWS, focusing on high availability and scalability. Use Terraform for infrastructure management, ensuring efficient deployment and scalability. Collaborate with globally distributed cross-functional teams working on the product.. Qualifications: 6 to 8 yrs experience in development using Typescript, and JavaScript in backend technologies like NodeJS Experience in building cloud native (AWS, Azure) applications for large-scale, high-traffic environments, and infrastructure as code (Terraform). Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and distributed messaging systems, particularly Kafka. Familiarity with database management (AWS Aurora, PostgreSQL) and caching solutions (Redis). Experience with real-time communication technologies, especially WebSocket, WebRTC and RTMP. Strong problem-solving skills and proficiency with code versioning tools. Nice to have - Experience in Front end using JavaScript, TypeScript and React, tailored for virtual and onsite event experiences .
