• 5+ years of experience as a backend engineer in product-based companies
• Proficient in Python or NodeJS
• Strong understanding of scalable architectures, APIs, and microservices
• Experience with AI/ML integrations or agentic AI is preferred
• Familiarity with real-time data processing or audio data handling is a plus
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and system monitoring
• Strong communication skills and experience in remote teams
• Build and maintain scalable backend services for Pocket’s AI features
• Integrate with AI/ML models for transcription, summarization, and insights
• Ensure backend performance, reliability, and security
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define APIs and backend needs
• Develop and maintain data storage, retrieval, and encryption mechanisms
• Monitor systems and troubleshoot production issues
Job location: 100% remote, with opportunity to relocate to San Francisco
