Senior Azure Architect
in
Worldwide
(Portugal or Brazil based).As a Senior Azure Architect, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of end-to-end Azure solutions for enterprise environments. You will shape cloud architectures across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, ensuring secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient systems. Your role includes guiding migration projects, implementing governance and security best practices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical designs. You will also mentor junior engineers, lead workshops, and produce comprehensive architecture documentation. This position offers exposure to complex cloud environments, hands-on infrastructure deployment, and the opportunity to influence cloud strategy in a dynamic, client-facing setting.
Accountabilities:
- Lead the design and delivery of Azure architectures across infrastructure, platform, and application layers
- Build Azure landing zones aligned with the Cloud Adoption Framework, including RBAC, policies, management groups, and cost controls
- Plan and execute migration projects, including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, application modernisation, and identity migration to Entra ID
- Integrate line-of-business applications into Azure environments, ensuring networking, identity, and operational continuity
- Produce high-level and low-level documentation, runbooks, implementation plans, and handover materials
- Automate infrastructure deployments using ARM, Bicep, or Terraform and implement disaster recovery/business continuity solutions
- Apply Zero Trust and security-first principles, including Conditional Access, Defender, Identity Protection, and least-privilege RBAC
- Lead workshops, discovery sessions, and architecture reviews with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
- Microsoft certifications preferred: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, or Security Engineer Associate
- Proven experience delivering Azure solutions with a focus on scalability, performance, security, governance, and cost optimisation
- Hands-on expertise with IaaS, PaaS, ARM, Bicep, Terraform, and PowerShell automation
- Experience with Azure migrations, hybrid AD environments, GPOs, DFS, DHCP, certificate services, and identity models
- Knowledge of enterprise tools such as Cisco Umbrella, Defender, Trust Layer, Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, Veeam, and monitoring platforms
- Experience supporting Azure Virtual Desktop, FSLogix, and Microsoft 365 migrations (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Intune, Autopilot)
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, able to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Comfortable in client-facing consultancy or MSP environments
- Excellent English proficiency, both written and verbal
- Nice-to-have: tenant-to-tenant migrations, enterprise-scale multi-subscription designs, Zero Trust implementation, FinOps, AKS/serverless, pre-sales experience
