Job Description

Role & responsibilities Leadership & Oversight : Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the truck maintenance department. Provide guidance, direction, and support to the maintenance team, ensuring effective performance and adherence to safety protocols. Strategic Planning : Develop long-term strategies for fleet maintenance, including preventative maintenance programs, fleet optimization, and cost management. Ensure alignment with overall business goals. Budgeting & Financial Management : Oversee and manage the department's budget, tracking expenditures related to truck maintenance, repairs, and parts procurement. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety. Fleet Performance Monitoring : Analyze and track the performance of the fleet, implementing improvements where necessary. Ensure trucks are operating at optimal levels to minimize downtime and maintenance costs. Monitor and ensure that all vehicles pass necessary inspections, meet safety standards, and maintain certifications. Operational Efficiency : Implement and oversee maintenance schedules and systems to improve fleet reliability, uptime, and operational efficiency. Establish performance metrics and use data to make informed decisions. Reporting & Documentation : Prepare detailed reports for senior management regarding fleet performance, maintenance costs, repair status, and any issues requiring attention. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities. Project Management : Lead special projects related to fleet maintenance or upgrades, ensuring timely and budget-conscious completion. Troubleshooting & Problem Solving : Provide high-level support for complex maintenance issues, working directly with technical teams to identify and resolve problems that impact fleet performance. Preferred candidate profile Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines. A forward-thinking, proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement. Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail.
