Senior Application Database Administrator

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Database Administrator (DBA) with over 5 years of experience in managing and optimizing databases. The primary responsibility for this role will be converting database code and logic from Oracle PL/SQL to Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both Oracle and SQL Server environments and proven experience in database migration and code translation projects. Key Responsibilities: Analyze existing PL/SQL procedures, packages, functions, and triggers to plan and execute seamless migration to T-SQL. Convert and rewrite Oracle PL/SQL database logic to T-SQL equivalents. Optimize converted T-SQL code for performance and maintainability. Collaborate with developers, architects, and QA teams to ensure correctness and efficiency of migrated logic. Maintain documentation of all migration efforts, including before-and-after code and technical notes. Perform unit testing and assist in system/integration testing of migrated components. Troubleshoot issues during and after the conversion process and provide solutions. Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and best practices. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 5+ years of hands-on experience as a DBA or Database Developer. Strong expertise in Oracle PL/SQL and Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL. Solid understanding of relational database concepts and architecture. Proven experience with database code migration/conversion projects. Familiarity with performance tuning and query optimization. Experience with database version control and deployment tools.
