Ascensus is looking for Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our dynamic team and embark on a rewarding career journey. The Actuarial Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial data, statistical models, and other relevant information to assess and manage financial risks for the organization. This role involves using mathematical and statistical techniques to analyze data, create reports, and provide recommendations for decision-making related to insurance and pension plans. Key Responsibilities : Data Analysis : Analyze large sets of financial and statistical data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies relevant to the organization's risk assessment. Statistical Modeling : Develop and maintain statistical models to predict future events, such as mortality rates, accident frequency, or investment performance. Risk Assessment : Evaluate the financial impact of potential risks and uncertainties, considering factors like market trends, regulatory changes, and customer behavior. Insurance Pricing : Assist in determining appropriate insurance premiums by estimating risks associated with various policyholders and coverage types. Financial Reporting : Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing actuarial findings, making recommendations to management based on the analysis. Collaboration : Work closely with underwriters, investment analysts, and other professionals to gather relevant information and ensure accurate risk assessment. Compliance : Stay updated with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure the organization's compliance with actuarial guidelines. Documentation : Maintain comprehensive documentation of methodologies, assumptions, and data sources used in actuarial analyses. Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities for process improvements, enhance modeling techniques, and contribute to the development of best practices within the actuarial department. Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree or actuarial certifications (such as ASA or FSA) is a plus. Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with a deep understanding of statistical concepts and methods. Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with complex datasets. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Knowledge of actuarial software and tools is preferred. Previous experience or internships in actuarial roles is an advantage.
