Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee end-to-end accounting operations for all outlets or business units.
  • Review and finalise monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Monitor cash flow, revenue trends, and financial health of the organisation.
  • Present MIS reports, P&L statements, and budget variance reports to management.
  • Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing.

2. Strategic Planning & Budgeting

  • Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Analyse business performance and recommend cost optimisation strategies.
  • Provide insights for pricing, offers, packages, and new business planning.
  • Support decision-making for expansion, new store openings, and investments.

3. Revenue Assurance

  • Oversee reconciliation of daily sales from POS software (Zenoti/Slick/other).
  • Ensure accuracy in billing, discounts, packages, memberships, and refunds.
  • Identify and resolve revenue leakages or discrepancies.
  • Strengthen SOPs for billing and cash handling.

4. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management

  • Supervise vendor management, invoice verification, and payment schedules.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables from partners, corporates, and franchises.
  • Establish credit control measures to improve cash flow.
  • Negotiate commercial terms with vendors when required.

5. Payroll, Commissions & Compliance

  • Oversee payroll processing in coordination with HR.
  • Ensure accuracy in salary sheets, commissions, incentives, and reimbursements.
  • Manage statutory compliance: GST, TDS, PF, ESI, PT, audits, and tax filings.
  • Liaise with auditors, consultants, and government authorities.

6. Inventory & Cost Control

  • Implement strong controls for inventory consumption and procurement.
  • Review stock reports, purchase orders, and usage vs. revenue patterns.
  • Highlight cost irregularities and improve cost-efficiency of operations.

7. Team Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Lead and mentor the Accounts team (Executives, Senior Executives, Managers).
  • Set SOPs for accounting workflows, approvals, documentation, and reporting.
  • Conduct training on system usage, financial discipline, and compliance.
  • Ensure continuous process improvement and automation where possible.

8. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Operations, HR, Procurement, and senior management.
  • Provide financial insights to support store-level and company-level decisions.
  • Support technology integrations for accounting and POS systems.

Preferred candidate profile:

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce (B.Com/M.Com/MBA).
  • 7–12 years of experience in accounting; minimum 3 years in a senior or managerial role.
  • Strong expertise in Tally, GST, TDS, MS Excel, and financial reporting.
  • Experience in service/retail/salon/spa/hospitality industry preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
