The Role:

To manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including

general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, tax compliance, and

financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will ensure accuracy and effectiveness in all

accounting tasks and support financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

1. General Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Handle day-to-day accounting operations and ensure timely month-end and

year-end closing.

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of journal entries and

financial records.

• Manage accounting related to excise, export incentives, commission

payouts, and ensure accurate treatment as per relevant laws.

2. Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements,

including Balance Sheet, P&L, and cash flow statements.

• Support management with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis,

along with actionable insights.

• Monitor financial KPIs, analyze cost centers, and assist in improving capital

utilization and ROI.

3. Taxation & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with GST (including reconciliation and input credit),

TDS, income tax, and other statutory obligations.

• File all required returns (GST, TDS, Income Tax, etc.) on time and maintain

proper documentation.

• Assist with regulatory compliance under Companies Act, including support for

ROC filings and secretarial audit coordination.

4. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management

• Monitor accounts receivable and ensure timely collections.
• Manage vendor payments, credit terms, and perform vendor ledger

reconciliations.

• Ensure proper accounting of commissions and incentives.

5. Audit Coordination

• Liaise with internal and statutory auditors; prepare audit schedules and

necessary documentation.

• Address audit queries and support closure of audit observations.

6. Banking & Treasury Operations

• Manage daily banking operations, bank reconciliations, and cash flow planning.
• Maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions for fund

management and credit facilities.

7. Process Improvement & Internal Controls

• Design, implement, and monitor internal controls to ensure accuracy and

prevent discrepancies.

• Recommend improvements in accounting processes, systems, and efficiency

measures.

Required qualification and skills:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and Masters degree is

plus.

• Proven experience of 5 years as an accountant or in a similar role is preferred.

• Proficiency in accounting software-Tally and MS Office, with advanced Excel

skills.

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
