Senior Accountant

Job Description

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Senior Accountant Process system generated journal entries for cash equivalents, investments, debt and related income statement activities. Determine, prepare and post correct journal entries. Keep track of investment transactions and product launch and provide daily summary to the group. Prepare reconciliation between general ledger and reports from source systems. Prepare month-end support schedules for various legal entities as a part of the month-end close process. Prepare consolidated and entity-level income statement and balance sheet variance analyses and supporting schedules. Prepare accounting classification analyses for new and existing investments for assigned legal entities. Run various reports and queries for the group. Prepare contributions to the Form 10Q/K filings, such as debt disclosure, debt, cash flows schedule, non-consolidated variance interest entities disclosures, fair value disclosure, sponsored investment product purchase/liquidation report. Assist with validation of system-generated foundational data for 10Q/K reporting. Assist with annual confirmation of investments and cash equivalents. Provide tax schedules and support to Global Tax department Assist with fulfilling requests from external and internal auditors and the SOX 404 compliance team. Liaise with the Corporate Treasury Operations team, cash team and other colleagues within the group for assigned legal entities. Participate in departmental projects and cross-departmental projects. What ideal qualifications, skills experience would help someone to be Successful Bachelor s degree in accounting, finance or business CA/CA Inter 5 to 8 years of corporate accounting, treasury accounting, or investment accounting experience. Experience with automated financial systems such as Workday and PeopleSoft. Proficiency in MS Office suite and the latest automation tools is a must. Proficiency in both written and verbal communication. Ability and eagerness to learn quickly and willingness to ask questions. Working knowledge of GAAP required. Knowledge and exposure to international accounting issues, currency translation, and consolidations preferred. Prior experience working for a US multinational corporation preferred. Asset management industry experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and analytical ability. Job Level - Individual Contributor Work Shift Timings - 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM IST
