Senior Accountant - Direct Tax

Join our newly established Tax Center of Excellence (COE) and play a key role in supporting global tax compliance and reporting. This position involves preparing tax returns and calculating global tax provisions for US GAAP and statutory reporting purposes. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external advisors to ensure accuracy and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in taxation, Economics, Finance, Law, or related field.
• 2 plus years of professional experience in a tax accounting environment.
• Experience in a multinational group is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Trade Tax (TT), and secondary tax filings for multiple European countries in partnership with external tax advisors.
• Ensure compliance with domestic and international tax regulations.
• Prepare Return to Provision (RTP) summaries and post authorized RTP entries.
• Provide feedback on US GAAP entries based on RTP adjustments to improve accuracy and minimize adjustments.
• Prepare US GAAP provision tax entries in line with US regulations.
• Collaborate with Avantor Corporate Tax team in the US.
• Act as a liaison with statutory accountants for external audit tax requirements.
• Reconcile tax payable/receivable positions with departmental statements.
• Communicate directly with tax authorities regarding notices.
• Work closely with Finance and Tax teams across departments.
• Prepare OneSource tax upload files and support tax audits.
