SDN Technology Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform functional and performance testing of SDN solutions across control, data, and application planes.
  • Validate SDN controllers such as

    OpenDaylight

    ,

    ONOS

    ,

    Cisco ACI

    ,

    VMware NSX

    , and

    Juniper Contrail

    .
  • Design and execute test cases for networking protocols including

    TCP/IP

    ,

    VLAN

    ,

    BGP

    ,

    OSPF

    ,

    MPLS

    ,

    GRE

    ,

    VXLAN

    ,

    OpenFlow

    , and

    NETCONF/YANG

    .
  • Work with

    Linux networking

    and virtual environments (

    VMware/KVM

    ) for test setups.
  • Develop automation scripts using

    Python

    ,

    Bash

    , and

    Ansible

    .
  • Test containerized SDN applications in

    Docker

    and

    Kubernetes

    environments.
  • Utilize network emulation/simulation tools such as

    Mininet

    ,

    GNS3

    , and

    EVE-NG

    for test scenarios.
  • Perform API testing using tools like

    Postman

    and

    REST Assured

    .

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of

    SDN architecture

    (control plane, data plane, application plane).
  • Hands-on experience with

    SDN controllers

    (OpenDaylight, ONOS, Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, Juniper Contrail).
  • Proficiency in networking protocols:

    TCP/IP

    ,

    VLAN

    ,

    BGP

    ,

    OSPF

    ,

    MPLS

    ,

    GRE

    ,

    VXLAN

    ,

    OpenFlow

    ,

    NETCONF/YANG

    .
  • Experience with

    Linux networking

    and virtualization (
