Job Overview: As an SDET at BimaKavach, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our insurance platform. You will be embedded within development teams, designing, developing, and implementing automated tests for both frontend and backend components. This role requires a strong programming background, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for building robust testing frameworks that catch issues early in the development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Test Planning and Execution: Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for both manual and automated testing to validate application functionality, performance, and security. Manual Testing: Perform exploratory, functional, and regression testing to identify defects in complex insurance workflows, such as policy issuance, claims processing, and customer onboarding. Automation Testing: Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Appium to streamline repetitive testing processes and improve efficiency. Defect Management: Identify, document, and track bugs using tools like JIRA or Bugzilla, collaborating closely with developers to ensure timely resolution. Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts, to understand insurance-specific requirements and ensure test coverage aligns with business goals. Test Environment Setup: Configure and manage test environments to simulate real-world scenarios, including integrations for insurance-related edge cases. Continuous Improvement: Research and implement new testing tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance the quality assurance process. Reporting: Provide detailed test reports and metrics to stakeholders, highlighting quality status and risks. Skills and Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience or certifications may be considered. Experience: 2-4 years of experience in software testing, with at least 1-2 years in automation testing. Experience in insurtech or financial services is a plus. Technical Skills: Proficiency in manual testing techniques and tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr). Hands-on experience with automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or Postman for API testing. Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript for writing test scripts. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI). Experience with defect tracking tools like JIRA. Domain Knowledge: Understanding of insurance processes (e.g., underwriting, claims, policy management) is highly desirable. Certifications: ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL), Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA), or equivalent certifications are a plus.
