Role & responsibilities

Ensuring GLP Compliance in the Department.

• Conduct of in vitro and in vivo genotoxicity studies (AMES, chromosomal aberration test, micronucleus test, mutation assay, COMET assay, Alternative studies)
• Plan and manage all departmental activities, including study scheduling, equipment maintenance, calibration, and procurement.
• Lead the team of scientists and ensure adequate staffing and smooth workflow.
• Prepare, approve, and oversee study plans; ensure compliance with GLP, SOPs, and quality standards.
• Monitor study progress, document deviations, coordinate with study personnel, and ensure accurate recording of raw data.
• Validate equipment and computerized systems used in studies.
• Maintain complete documentation of test systems and ensure proper archiving of all study records.
• Communicate effectively with Quality Assurance and provide required study documents.
• Conduct necropsy, tissue collection, organ weighing, processing, and staining when required.
• Prepare, update, and revise SOPs as needed.
• Subcontract work when required and document GLP compliance status.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the HOD/TFM
