Job Description -School Counsellor Location: Goregaon, Mumbai Employment Type: Full-Time Salary Range: ₹40,000 – ₹60,000 per month Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or a related field Experience: 1–3 years in counselling or student support roles preferred Key Responsibilities Student Support: Provide individual and group counselling sessions to address students' academic, emotional, and social challenges. Academic Guidance: Assist students in developing academic plans aligned with their strengths and interests. Career Planning: Guide students in exploring career options and assist with college or vocational planning. Crisis Intervention: Offer immediate support during emergencies and critical incidents, ensuring student safety and well-being. Conflict Resolution: Mediate disputes among students and between students and staff, promoting a harmonious school environment. Program Development: Design and implement preventive programs addressing issues like bullying, substance abuse, and mental health awareness. Parental Engagement: Maintain open communication with parents, providing updates on student progress and conducting workshops to support student development. Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, administrators, and external professionals to create comprehensive support plans for students. Record Keeping: Maintain confidential records of counselling sessions and track student progress over time. Qualifications & Skills Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. A Master’s degree or additional certifications in counselling is advantageous. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff. Empathy and Patience: Demonstrated ability to understand and relate to students' experiences and challenges. Organizational Skills: Proficient in managing multiple tasks, maintaining records, and planning programs. Problem-Solving Abilities: Skilled in identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
